If you've been a loyal supporter of our soaps, you may have noticed a change in the size and shape of our soap over the past couple of months. Some of you may have received different sized bars.
For starters don't be alarmed, in the past you've been receiving more soap per weight than what's indicated on our packaging.
Here at Meow Meow Tweet, we're always looking for ways to reduce our waste and impact on the environment. In an effort to move toward running a sustainable business, we recently invested in reusable silicone liners for our soap molds. Unlike plastic, these liners can be easily washed, sterilized and they have an indefinite lifespan. We paired this purchase with a professional soap cutter which yields more consistent results to ensure that you are receiving 4.5 oz of soap.
So what does this have to do with the size of your soap? Here's the skinny. Our new soap cutter cuts bars at a thickness of 1 inch as opposed to the 3/4 inch thickness of our old bars. To compensate for this difference and to achieve a more accurate weight we reduced the soap height. For a short time we were using the new cutter with the old soap size, which means some of you lucky cats got extra large sized bars, sometimes as much as 6 ounces! Before whipping out the ruler, keep in mind that soap does shrink as it continues to cure and the above numbers can vary from 1/16th to an 1/8th. The soap you are currently using is about 4.9 oz (still more than what's listed on the box!).
As always, we're constantly working toward and committed to providing you with product that is sustainable, consistent, and most importantly held to a standard that we can stand behind and aligns with our values.
