Plastic Free Conditioner Bar

Unwrapped conditioner bar in a stack of a round red scrub sponge and a rabbit sculpture with brown polka-dots holding a stalk of lavender. There's a red mushroom sculpture and banana behind the rabbit, and a peach background.

Toot toot! That’s the sound of us celebrating our newest product: the Conditioner Bar! If you’re a fan of our Rosemary Avocado and Lavender Coconut Milk shampoo bars, you’re going to loooooove this plastic-free conditioner.

OUR PLANT-BASED INGREDIENTS (JOJOBA! SHEA! LAVENDER! AHHHH....")

Our new conditioner bar is made from plant oils and gentle surfactants to detangle and soften your hair. Cocoa butter, jojoba oil, and shea butter lend a smoothing effect. These essential fatty acids promote hair growth, prevent a dry/itchy/flaky scalp, and add shine and luster.

To boot, this mighty bar is blissed out with lavender essential oil. We’re hooked on this little evergreen shrub for its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties (antimicrobial = no fungal infections). Also, lavender will calm those nerves and make you feel all kinds of “ahhhhhh….” (insert temple-rubbing-serenity-now emoji here).

ALL CONDITIONERS ARE NOT CREATED EQUAL

Most conditioners are made with a rinsing agent that is industrially produced from the colza plant, called behentrimonium methosulfate, or BTMS. This ingredient makes conditioners have a positive charge, which allows it to bind to the negatively charged outer layer of your hair. Your hairs then repel each other, aka detangle. It also helps to reduce frizz by closing the keratin layer of each strand of hair.

The production of BTMS often utilizes palm oil. We’re palm-oil free, so we created our own version of BTMS that uses a coconut-derived cetearyl alcohol instead.

YOUR PLASTIC-FREE HAIR ROUTINE (TA-DA!)

Our conditioner bar is the perfect mate to our shampoo bars, which means that your hair routine can now be 100% plastic-free.

You Know How to Do This, But JUST IN CASE

Step 1

After shampooing, rub conditioner bar directly onto wet hair. Your hair needs to be pretty soaked here, as the bar needs ample moisture to create a light film and really get in there. Some hair types may require a second application.

Step 2

Massage the conditioner from scalp to ends, let it work its magic for a few minutes, then rinse.

Step 3

Repeat if your hair needs extra detangling or softening, or if you need a few more moments to relax and breathe in all that lavender.

Outdoor Shower Tip: These bars are outdoor-shower friendly because they are made from plants and can biodegrade. Remember: Always use products at least 200 feet away from water sources, so that the soil can filter it and you won’t contaminate otherwise clean water.

Travel Tip: Chop the conditioner bar in half for the perfect travel-sized soap and zero TSA interference as you pass through that security line! Bonus points if you also cut your shampoo bar in half and nestle them together in our paper box.

Now, let’s condition those marvelous manes
