Yes, it is color-safe! Though, we generally recommend washing a little less for treated hair.
Store out of a water stream in a place with good drainage, so that it can dry between uses. When you are reaching the end of the bar, to keep it from breaking into pieces, you can stick it onto a new bar.
This product softens at body temperature, so it may melt during transit. It's still good to use, even if misshapen!
